Sally Kern,
Despite what you have said to the press, and to people who oppose you- your speech was a textbook definition of 'hate speech'. I am so hurt by the filth that you preached. I'm not here to call you names- although I would love to and I think you're very deserving- I'm here to make a point. To start with, you're wrong. There is no indoctrination, there is no 'agenda'- what we see as striving for 'equal rights' (the right to marry, mainly, but also the right to hold hands and be oneself without the fear of being hurt for it.) you see as an 'agenda'. It is an uneducated, sickening, terrible things to say. Especially since you, as a woman, are in a position that was previously reserved for men. Was there a female "agenda"? Did women "indoctrinate" people to believe that they were just as good, and just as worthy? Or is it possible that they were just RIGHT? If there is an indoctrination, I've never been invited. If there is an agenda, I know no one who has any part of it. Those words are trash, spoken to poision the opinions and minds of people who obviously can't think for themselves.
You stated that suicide rates are higher among homosexuals as a way of saying that being gay is wrong. Gay people don't commit suicide because they're gay, gay people commit suicide because of people like you. Imagine that 13 year old boy in Iowa, or that 12 year old girl in Vermont who's already struggling with themselves and already feels like they have nowhere to go (I may point out that many many kids are gay without ever meeting another gay person or having any idea what is means. Were they 'recruited?) They will now hear/read your speech- your hate speech- and start to believe that the way they are and the way God (If there is such a thing) made them is wrong. And instead of living a healthy productive life- with maybe a partner of the same gender- they become hateful, insecure, suicidal people. Or is that what you want? Also imagine that child who is already pre-disposed to violence hearing your speech. Do they then go to one of those gay children and kill them- because you've clearly stated that homosexuals as a whole are a cancer- and that cancer should be 'cut out'. Or do you want that, too? I am surrounded by people who love me- no matter who I sleep with- but some people are not so lucky, and although your words struck me to my very core, they didn't break me. Why? Because I am a stable, healthy individual, who happens to be gay. However, the society you are helping to build will not produce healthy people, who happen to be gay. Again, you are either too stupid to realize this or you WANT an entire group of people to be deprived,and treated as second class citizens. Judging by your speech, I can't tell which of these categories you fall into.

To end this letter, I'd like to say that I do not believe what you said was taken out of context and for that reason I do not believe that you will respond to my e-mail. I can only imagine that your responses to e-mails/ letters/ calls of this nature is "It was taken out of context, I didn't mean exactly that. It wasn't a hate speech." When you know fully well you meant every word. So I will tell you now I don't believe it. If you can defend yourself without lying, please respond. If you do not, I will know why.

I hope that making yourself seem important and worthy to a small group has been worth it. I hope you are willing to live with the decision you've made with your voice and your words.
