Jump.

Okay call me a dork, but I'm feeling a very strong, deep connection to a Madonna song. I know this is very pseudo-intellectual and maybe a little desperate, but her song 'Jump' resonates with me. I'm terrified of change. I'm terrified of not making it. When I find something I'm good at and can exist with, I'm hesitant to make small, let alone large changes. Transferring stores was a huge step for me, and since it's worked out so horribly I'm afraid to accept a new position from a new company, if it's even offered. It's a grown up job. It's a m-f9-5, 401k, heathcare job. Am I ready for this? I'm stressing myself out. I hate where I work now, I despise it... but can't it always get worse? I know that I shouldn't complain, but I really really need some advice right now. Desperately. I need that extra push so that I can jump.

JUMP There’s only so much you can learn in one place
The more that I wait, the more time that I waste
I haven’t got much time to waste, it’s time to make my way
I’m not afraid what I’ll face, but I’m afraid to stay
I’m going down my own road and I can make it alone
All work and no fighting, I’ll find a place of my own
Are you ready to jump? Get ready to jump Don’t ever look back, oh baby,
Yes, I’m ready to jump Just take my hands
Get ready to jump
We learned our lesson from the start, my sisters and me
The only thing you can depend on is your family (including John, Jaime, and Tekoa. :))
And life’s gonna drop you down like the limbs of a tree
It sways and it swings and it bends until it makes you see
Are you ready to jump?
Get ready to jump Don’t ever look back, oh baby
Yes, I’m ready to jump Just take my hands
Get ready to, are you ready?
(Spoken:) There’s only so much you can learn in one place
The more that you wait, the more time that you waste
All work and no fighting, I’ll find a place of my own
It sways and it swings and it bends until you make it your own I can make alone (repeat 7x) Are you ready to jump? Get ready to jump Don’t ever look back, oh baby
Yes, I’m ready to jump
Just take my hands Get ready to jump
Are you ready to jump?
Get ready to jump Don’t ever look back, oh baby
Yes, I’m ready to jump
Just take my hands Get ready to, are you ready?

Youre miserable at starbucks and i know theres no guarantee you wont be miserable at the new job. But i think taking a chance for happiness is better than sticking with reliable misery. Ultimately its your decision, baby, but you have people backing you no matter what you choose to do. It'll be okay. But if you really think you need a push, I say take the plunge.<3
